Itami Sect Information
About
Officially recognized by many factions as a terrorist organization and often accused of being a cult, Itami has a record for violence and extremism. These recognitions only serve as acknowledgement for our ability to do whatever needs to be done to achieve victory and peace of mind.
Our beliefs are pretty straightforward. We do not worship any god or entity but we are tolerant of others freedoms to do so. All living things are endowed with free will. Fate is not predetermined, the future is always changing. A majority of our members are very spiritual but as a collective, Itami believes anything involving that is irrelevant. We are here. It is imperative you take care of yourself, mind & body. Itami promotes Mental Health Awareness and promotes being physically fit and active.
Several of our members are survivors, from domestic violence to environmental factors to critical illnesses. We have lost many, many friends and loved ones and have endured the worst. For that reason we do not show sympathy nor do we have any empathy. We all have an understanding of what is out there and our focus is more on confronting evil over grieving tragedy. We do not feel sorry for ourselves, we have no regrets, we have no morals and we have no mercy.
History
Itami was founded in 2011 by Lucifer within the Plazma Burst 2 community and was the only skill-based clan among hundreds of others. Due to the nature of the recruitment process (Our recruitment method is still the same to this day. For more information regarding our initiation strategy, check out the Enlistment webpage), Itami quickly rose to notoriety and many players refused to even play within the same public lobbies with anyone bearing our tag. Naturally, this lead to many people and groups confronting Itami to get their 15 minutes in the spotlight.
Despite small quarrels with clans (TOC, Guardians, Elite Rocket, USMI, Virus, LED, SOA, Black Assassins, etc.) and terrifying the majority of players through sole Itami members taking over entire servers with relative ease, Itami wouldn't get involved with the political atmosphere between clans until around 2014 when Cyclix incorporated Itami into its clan to aid in its war with GSA. The GSA-Cyclix war would also give Itami its first experiences in fighting propaganda wars as in order to counter losing their war, GSA Strategic Command resorted to psyops and media manipulation.
While Itami maintained positive PR for these wars and remained highly respected, all was not okay behind the scenes. These confrontations were mostly for the personal benefit of Aryman. Aryman aka Sheep inherited leader status from Lucifer sometime in 2012-2013 and, despite protest from Lucifer, would continue to pursue his personal goals (orientated mostly for vengeance as Sheep was a former EKAT member and his clan not only lost to GSA in the 2011-2012 EKAT-GSA wars but failed to survive the aftermath) at Itami's expense well into 2014-2015.
At some point in 2015, Itami would see itself being hijacked. Blackbird was originally a GSA member but ended up betraying GSA for what little remained of Cyclix shortly after the GSA-Cyclix wars ended as he strongly disagreed with how the war was handled. Blackbird and Sheep afterwards became associates due to sharing the same goals but were not at all on friendly terms, with both occasionally even attacking each other during ceasefires in the proxy war they started against GSA by using MMC, Delta Force and multiple other smaller clans as puppets. At this point Lucifer was inactive along with most of Itami, mostly due to Sheep's tunnel vision and lack of willingness to initiate new members. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Blackbird forced Sheep into exile and seized control of the clan by force.
After Blackbird took control of the clan, he did not change much of anything to the policies or operating methods. He immediately enlisted a few people he trusted and were qualified. This era saw the clan wars transition from traditional combat into cyber warfare. To adapt, Blackbird started a division within the clan called "X13". This was a secretive group lead by Serpent and briefly by Reboot that was responsible for monitoring foreign threats and keeping Itami informed and safe from cyber attacks. Given their extensive skillset, X13 was utilized by Itami for offensive actions as well, from seizing the Nephilim Clan forums to attacking anyone that threatened Itami's allies such as the Genocide clan.
During the 2016-2017 X13 era, Itami would maintain contact with GSA and despite tensions, the two clans would remain mostly peaceful. Part of this is actually because Blackbird was in a relationship with a member of GSA. At first GSA accused Itami of espionage and appeared determined in attacking Itami but after high ranking members from GSA verified there was no threat, tensions slowly eased. It was also later in this era that Lucifer would return and discover what had unfolded. Lucifer allowed Blackbird to continue leading the clan as his visions aligned more with his own and, unlike Sheep, was not using the clan for his personal benefit and had a genuine interest in what was best for the collective. Lucifer and Blackbird became close friends but also rivals as a combination of their justified paranoia, shared interests + goals and their egos made it difficult for them to really relax around each other.
2018 is when the rivalry between Lucifer and Blackbird finally exploded. Both used their own respective groups to relentlessly attack each other and everything they knew they cared about, including people. Several people were blackmailed, doxxed and psychologically manipulated and attacked. Home addresses were leaked and people were hired to commit assaults. People were swatted. Both Itami and XeavenH (Lucifer's group) were in critical condition as those who were trying to keep their heads low ended up fleeing. Neither side really won, rather they were nearly destroying themselves trying to win. After realizing it was coming to that, both parties backed off and entered periods of isolation/ inactivity.
Blackbird would begin fixing Itami. He recruited Painn, a Nephilim member, who was very well known in the community and had connections with some of the best players left that were still active in an otherwise dying game. Itami, while maintaining diplomacy between familiar clans, mostly kept to itself however a brief conflict between Itami and YRN's leader Juan the Red would see Blackbird use the connection Painn had to steal over half of Juan's members which nearly killed YRN. Those members were later reinstated back into YRN with Itami's permission after negotiations were successful but those members are recognized as former official members out of respect for the inviduals and their talent.
Identification
Itami uses a variety of different ways to ID ourselves. Below you will find the tags and emblems we use to ID ourselves and what meaning it has to us. Please note that if you spot anyone wearing our branding and question the authenticity of their membership, you may verify through our members list. If their name is not on there, they are not Itami.
These tags are are accurate and currently in use as of 05/21/2024:
» PAIN – The literal translation of the clan name from Japanese to English.
» SECT – An adjective that accurately describes Itami and is often used alongside the clan name.
» 3 – Law of the universe. What you put into the universe will come back to you threefold.
» Symbol I – The official Itami logo, created by Itami leader Blackbird and co-created by Nick.
» Symbol II – Black Sun. A symbol originally associated with the Nazi SS and the occult, it is for that reason it is still employed by Neo Nazis and White Supremacists to this day. It should be noted though that what the symbol meant to the Nazis is still unclear. It is also used worldwide among military units (notably Ukraine) and other groups. Despite its history, it is relevant in many cultures and
